MINUTES OF THE MEETING 2/12/2009

Meeting called to order by President Mike Dolly at 2009 Hours.

In attendance:  Mike Dolly,  Roger Davenport,  Kevin Otto, Maurine & Ellwood Gittman, Glen Greenwalt,  Pat Smythe, Jack Kelly, Jack Curren, Ben Facciolo, Dominic Squillace, Dean Keyes, Cresent Brown, Steven Mitchell, Rick Fuller, Laura Warren, Fred Mason, Jack Esher and Mark Sperratore.

Motion to accept the minutes as printed for the month of January 2009. (Warren, Davenport) passed

TREASURER’S REPORT: Pat gave report for January 2009, Motion to accept (Keyes, Greenwalt) passed

QUARTERMASTER: A motion was made for Ben to order 12 Blue Knights decals.  Motion to accept (Facciolo, Smythe) passed.  If anyone is interested in items that are in stock or ordering items, contact Ben Facciolo.

INVESTIGATING:   2nd reading for both Joseph Walsh and Gary Joseph Smith of the Aston Police Dept

COMMUNICATIONS/ACTIVITIES: President Dolly received information from Massachusetts Blue Knights Chapter #5 that one of their members was involved in a traffic accident, resulting in high medical bills.  They are selling tickets for a 2009 Harley Davidson Soft Tail for $100 per ticket.  A motion was made to buy one ticket. (Squillace,Otto) passed. The winner can take the bike or cash. If anyone else is interested in buying a ticket, they should contact President Dolly.

HELMETS SHOULD BE WORN on any Blue Knights ride or group ride No Exceptions

OLD BUSINESS:  Some of our members have not paid their dues as of yet. Please send your money in.    

NEW BUSINESS: Start planning for our chapter picnic on June 7, (Sunday) 2009 from 11 AM to 3 PM. We need volunteers at the Folsom VFW 1805 MacDade Blvd., Ridley Twp. where we have our meetings at times.  The costs will be $10 per person.  Volunteers should be at the VFW by 10 AM.   

GOOD OF THE ORDER: Brother Squillace is selling tickets for the Sheriff’s Association for $20.  The winner will get a new Harley Davidson or can take cash instead.  Anyone interested, please contact Brother Squillace (cell) 610-888-7877.

Brother Smythe is taking care of the proper paper work for the IRS involving a Domestic Non-Profit Organization. 

If anyone is interested in going to the International Blue Knights Convention being held in Louisville, Kentucky this year, they should contact President Dolly for the information.  Will be leaving on Saturday, July 18, 2009.
